Crafty Christmas Wrapping with ALSO Home

Give your holiday presents an extra special touch with these easy Christmas wrapping ideas.

Halloween and Bonfire Night are over and it’s starting to look a lot like Christmas—bring on the cheesy/ugly Christmas jumpers and mince pies! As the weather turns cold, there are more indoor days than out. So, for a great indoor festive activity to kick start the season, we’ve decided to turn our eye to Christmas wrapping and how to make sure those pressies pack a punch come Christmas day.

Natural Elements:

A good way to get show the season is to use elements of the outdoors in your Christmas wrapping. Forage your back garden for tree clippings, pinecones and other pieces of fresh greenery to top your gifts. Sprigs of rosemary and thyme perk up presents wrapped in kraft paper and smell divine.

Little Luxuries:

If you are more traditional in your wrapping, you can add a little bit of luxury with gorgeous velvet ribbon. It’s a simple statement and packs a punch. We love how Fiona Humberstone (The Brand Stylist) wrapped her ‘gifts for Entrepreneurs’ on her blog recently, using our lichen deep green velvet ribbon and adding little pieces of greenery from the outside.

Handmade:

We are also huge fans of a bit of DIY when it comes to wrapping and have a soft spot for hand-stamping, not only because it’s fun and comes out with a lovely bespoke effect that stamping creates but also it means you can use ethically sourced paper and traditional methods for your Christmas Wrapping.

For this patterned ode to the Christmas tree, all you’ll need is craft paper, a stamp, stamp pad and some creative juices….

We love The English Stamp Company and they sell a number of Christmas stamps so you can create your own wrapping paper or personalised cards. If you’re feeling creative, you can also design your own stamps that they make for you, like we did!

We created two unique styles with English Stamp:

  1. A chubby Christmas Tree – We wanted our own take on a generic spiky Christmas tree, so designed this hand-drawn chubby tree. We measured it making sure that it would fit beautifully on tags as well as being able to use it on wrapping paper.
  2. Merry Christmas Text – An essential for this festive time of year, we used one of the ALSO Home’s designers hand writing to create this stamp. Playful but also quite modern, this one can also fit on tags as well as cards and paper.

We also ordered two stamp colours, both silver and black to play with and layer up together. Not only was it a lot of fun to make, it also makes your Christmas wrapping unique.
